<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin-film transistor (TFT) substrate which can effectively shield the light toward an active layers of TFTs, can reduce the light leakage current of the TFTs and can be easily manufactured without requiring an intricate manufacturing process and an active matrix type liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The TFT array substrate has a pixel matrix section including TFTs 31 arranged in a matrix form and a driving circuit section including the TFTs on a translucent substrate 1. The TFT 31 of the pixel matrix section has a high heat conduction film (a second light shielding film) 5 formed between the TFT 31 and the translucent substrate 1 so as to at least overlap on the active layer of the TFT 31. The TFTs of the driving circuit section have no high heat conduction films. The heat from the active layer of the TFT 31 produced by the irradiation with laser light is transmitted to the surroundings through the high heat conduction film 5 to lower the crystallinity of the active layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
