<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for deodorization by which a large quantity of air containing an odorous component, such as ammonia, amines, etc., can be deodorized efficiently. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus A deodorizes the air B containing the odorous component sucked through an intake pipe 1 by using a deodorizing liquid L in a working tank 2 and discharges the deodorized air through an exhaust pipe 3. The working tank 2 is provided with a liquid tank section 4 which stores the deodorizing liquid L, a diffusing atomizer 5 which atomizes the deodorizing liquid L upon the odorous component-containing air B, and a baffle plate 6 disposed to divide the internal space S of the tank 2 and having many through-holes 62. In addition, the tank 2 has a larger cross-sectional area than the intake pipe 1 has. Since the deodorizing liquid L is atomized upon the odorous component-containing air B in the device A and the baffle plate 6 having many through-holes 62 is provided to interrupt the course of the air B, the odorous substance N contained in the air B and the droplets M of the deodorizing liquid L can be forcibly brought into gas-liquid contact with each other by concentrating the air B to the through-holes 62. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
