PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera which can realize the reduction of the thickness of a camera body and which can maintain the entire shape with a good balance in which the disposition of an inner constituting component is considered and excellent operationality. SOLUTION: The electronic camera includes a photographing lens unit 11 having a plurality of lenses, a reflecting mirror 20 for changing the direction of a photographing optical axis incident perpendicularly to the front surface of the camera body and an imaging element 27, a main substrate 15 which has a substantially inverted U shaped configuration to be disposed over the photographing lens unit and which is disposed substantially in parallel to the front surface of the camera body, a memory containing chamber 17 having a connector for a memory and mounted at one end of the main substrate, and an image display unit 12 disposed substantially in parallel to the main substrate after the photographing lens unit and so as not to be superposed with the memory containing chamber in the substantially perpendicular direction to the front surface of the camera body.
