PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of 2,6-pyridine dicarboxylic acid or its salt for quantitating quickly with high sensitivity 2,6-pyridine dicarboxylic acid in a manufacturing process of 2,6-pyridine dicarboxylic acid or its salt, having a large quantity of organic acids. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of 2,6-pyridine dicarboxylic acid or its salt is characterized by analyzing 2,6-pyridine dicarboxylic acid in a composite sample having large quantity of organic acids in the manufacturing process. In the method, a trace of 2,6-pyridine dicarboxylic acid in the sample, or 2,6-pyridine dicarboxylic acid or its salt in each manufacturing process such as fermentation or refining can be quantitated quickly with high sensitivity without requiring a troublesome and complicated process such as pretreatment. Hereby, the quick manufacturing method can be acquired by shortening greatly the analysis time for monitoring which is a rate-determining step requiring several hours respectively in each process.
