<p>Each cam running surface (1a) is inclined through an angle (alpha ) relative to the cam shaft (1) axis (C1), over its entire circumference. An adjuster displaces the entire cam shaft along its axis. Each cam acts upon a cam lever which is spring-returned and pivots about the center of the axis (3), via a working surface (2c) similarly-inclined through the angle (alpha ) in the longitudinal direction, relative to the center (C3) of the axis (3). Each cam lever (2) on the side facing the valve stroke transmission arm (5) has at least one track, describing a neutral stroke section (2a) with a radiused contour (R) about the axis center (C3).
