MACHINE AND METHOD FOR WRAPPING OBJECT WITH FOIL WEB TO START OR FINISH WRAPPING MOTION AT ANY SPOTS IN VERTICAL DIRECTION OF THE OBJECT

PURPOSE: A machine and a method for wrapping an object with a foil web are provided to reduce the consumption of a foil web and the wrapping time by preventing the object from wrapping two times and to be capable of surface-wrapping from both upper and lower parts of the object. CONSTITUTION: A machine for wrapping a plastic foil web around an object is composed of a machine frame(1) fastened by a fixing base and formed with a upright vertical column(2); a lifting frame(3) guided by the vertical column and arranged to move up and down along the vertical direction; a power unit for moving the lifting frame; a circular guide track(5) supported on the lifting frame to move together with the lifting frame; a foil dispenser(6) installed to rotate a foil web roll(7), induced by the circular guide track to circulate on a ring-shaped path along the periphery of the object; and a gripping and cutting device(11). The foil dispenser delivers the plastic foil web from the foil web roll to wrap around the object. The gripping and cutting device comprises a device frame(12); a first swing arm(13) connected to the device frame by a first joint to change between a horizontal position and a vertical position and composed of a first fixing unit for gripping and fastening the foil web and a cutting unit for cutting the foil web; and a second swing arm(17) formed with a second fixing unit for gripping and fastening the contracted foil web and linked to the device frame by a second joint separated from the first joint to change between the horizontal and vertical positions. The gripping and cutting device is connected with the lifting frame to move vertically together with the lifting frame.
