PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for detecting a trouble of a cable of an image display panel are provided to decide an abnormal state of the cable by using a first sensor for measuring the amount of image data and a second sensor for measuring a driving voltage. CONSTITUTION: A first sensor(101) is used for measuring the amount of image data provided to an LCD panel through a cable. A second sensor(103) is used for measuring a driving voltage of the LCD panel connected to a LCD connector. A micro-computer(105) is used for deciding an abnormal state of the cable by using the amount of image data and the driving voltage. A memory(107) is used for storing the amount of image data and the driving voltage.
