<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of recovering cobalt where the loss of cobalt on leaching is suppressed, and also, the balance between the recovery rate of cobalt and the reduction of the concentration of impurities on pH regulation is excellent, in a method of economically recovering cobalt from cobalt-containing powder comprising at least one kind selected from aluminum and iron as impurities with a general-purpose chemical. <P>SOLUTION: Cobalt-containing powder comprising at least one kind selected from alumina and iron as impurities such as powder obtained by roasting a lithium secondary battery and thereafter performing pulverization is mixed into a sulfuric acid solution, further, an oxidizing gas such as air or oxygen is blown into the sulfuric acid solution in a state where bubbles are reduced via a glass filter, and mixing is performed, so that cobalt is leached. The leach liquor obtained by the leaching is oxidized, the pH is regulated to 4.0 to 5.5, thereafter, aging is performed at 30 to 90°C for 120 to 480 min, and solid-liquid separation is performed, so that the impurities in the leach liquor are removed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
