<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a configuration capable of connecting many subscriber stations (STAs) to an access point (AP) and surely performing an authentication processing in an authentication method and apparatus for encryption in a wireless LAN system based upon the IEEE 802.11. <P>SOLUTION: Many STAs 1 each comprising a data terminal 10 and a wireless LAN card 20 transmit an authentication request to the AP 2 (S1). The AP 2 transmits a MAC address to an authentication server (RADIUS) 3 by the protocol of the authentication server 3 (S8). The authentication server 3 executes authentication of the MAC address (S9) and thereafter transmits a challenge text to the AP 2 (S10). The AP 2 applies encryption authentication to the STA 1 according to the processing of the WEP algorithm stipulated by the IEEE 802.11 (S2) to (S9). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
