PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electroluminescent element having a light emitting layer made of semiconductor fine particle with excellent light emitting property, and to provide a manufacturing method of the same. SOLUTION: The electroluminescent element is composed of a substrate 101 made of glass plate or the like; a positive electrode arranged on the substrate 101; a hole transport layer 103; a light emitting layer 104 composed of semiconductor fine particle having a semiconductor crystal and a ligand composed of organic compound coordinated to the semiconductor crystal, made of a homogeneous film having continuous area of at least not less than 15μm2; an electron transport layer 105; and a negative electrode 106. The light emitting layer 104 is formed by painting a solution compatible with the ligand coordinated to the semiconductor crystal particle. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
