PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chat log recording method capable of timely recording a log from a previous traced back line when damage from harassment is suffered in a chat. SOLUTION: The chat log recording method in which recordings are carried out by a client connected to a chat server through a network comprises a log recording process (Step S202) that records as a log file a log sent from the server as soon as a chat is started (Step 201), and a report log creating process (Step S208) that specifies a remark thought to be a harassment action as a remark message in the chat log (Step S206), traces the conducted chat from the position prior to the specified remark message, and creates a report log file with the lines from that line on.
