摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a Ti alloy ingot where a Ti alloy ingot consisting of a Ti alloy comprising a metallic element(s) having a melting point and a specific gravity higher than those of Ti or a Ti alloy having a specific gravity lower than that of Ti, further having high density, and containing no unmelted materials can efficiently and inexpensively be obtained with the reduced number of stages. SOLUTION: The Ti alloy ingot is produced from the production method comprising: a step where the raw material of a Ti alloy containing a metallic element(s) having a melting point and a specific gravity higher than those of Ti or a Ti alloy having a specific gravity lower than that of Ti is subjected to diamagnetic suspension melting in a cold crucible induction melting apparatus 2, so that the unmelted metallic elements or unmelted Ti are penetrated into a solidification shell S formed near the bottom part of a metal water-cooled crucible 4 in the induction melting apparatus 2, and also, the molten metal M of the Ti alloy melted in the upper direction thereof is raised in an almost semi-spherical shape; and a step where the molten metal M is sucked up to a cavity 27 in a die 26 where the cavity 27 is made into an evacuated atmosphere or a vacuum.
