摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realistically shorten a recovery time of a communication path when a failure occurs. <P>SOLUTION: A method for designing an alternate communication path of a communication network includes the steps of previously setting alternate communication path information to each communication node of an optical communication network (NW) constituted by a plurality of communication nodes each connected thereto, transferring a failure notification message including failure location information to each communication node from a failure detecting communication node (D) when a link failure or a failure of a communication node occurs, and switching communication paths in parallel by communication nodes which receive the failure notification message. An upstream side switching communication node (A) which has a least time for transferring the failure notification message from a failure detecting communication node (D) is selected from among the communication nodes which are located upstream of a position of the failure (F) on a present communication path (WP), and an alternate communication path which is constituted by the communication nodes each having a time not exceeding a failure notification time for notifying the failure to the upstream side switching communication node (A) is searched. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
