PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create a profile with which desired color reproduction is made possible while taking into account exposure characteristics, development characteristics and the like, in a color image output device. SOLUTION: When creating the profile for converting an input signal value of the color image output device wherein cyan, magenta and yellow images are formed in an arbitrary order and a black image is finally formed, the profile is created to include a relation between the input signal value and a converted output signal value that is found from a photometric value thereof, of -40<(Cin-Kin)-(Cout-Kout)<40 (Cin is a cyan input signal value, Kin is a black input signal value, Cout is a cyan output signal value, and Kout is a black output signal value).
