PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AC adapter with a simple structure capable of alleviating bending stress of a DC output cord. SOLUTION: By using a side cover 7 having a through-hole 8 with the axis center crossing the axis center of a drawing-out hole 6 of an adapter case 5 and a straight bushing 10, the straight bushing 10 is retained with the through-hole 8 of the side cover 7, not with the drawing-out hole 6 of the adapter case 5 as in a conventional case, so that a cord C bent in L-shape by reaching the straight bushing 10 drawn out from the drawing-out hole 6 of the adapter case 5 in its axis center direction will not suffer from repeated bending stress as it is in a fixed state. Moreover, since the straight bushing 10 is extended along a side face 5a of the adapter case 5, bending of the cord C at a terminal end of the straight bushing 10 is lessened in reeling the cord C around the adapter case 5, so that stress of the cord C at this part can be alleviated.
