PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abutting type vibration control device having an improved structure, capable of preventing the occurrence of hitting sound and vibration caused by hitting on a support rod in accordance with unnecessary displacement of an independent mass member and effectively providing offsetting vibration control effect through stable hitting of the independent mass member on the support rod. SOLUTION: While an abutting elastic body 22 is elastically deformed in the direction perpendicular to a shaft which is the direction of vibration input, the independent mass member 16 is externally inserted and arranged in the support rod 14, and the abutting elastic body 22 is further elastically deformed upon input of vibration to be controlled and is separated from the support rod 14 so that the independent mass member 16 is abutted on the support rod 14 in the direction of vibration input by hitting it elastically through the abutting elastic body 22.
