The invention relates to the modulation of the size of the tubers in a tuberproducing plant by genetic modification. The tuber producing plant is thereby transformed by introduction into the plant of a sequence encoding for a hydroxyjasmonic acid sulfotransferase, in the sense or antisense orientation. The present invention also relates to the modulation of tuber size by applying to a tuber producing plant stimulators or inhibitors of a hydroxyjasmonic acid sulfotransferase. |
