摘要 PURPOSE: Provided is a nonaqueous secondary battery which has a long charge/discharge cycle lifetime and a high discharge capacity per unit volume. CONSTITUTION: The nonaqueous secondary battery comprises a positive electrode; a negative electrode containing an alloy having a CeNiSi2 type crystal structure; and a nonaqueous electrolyte. Preferably the alloy has the composition represented by LnM1xM2y, wherein Ln is at least one element selected from the elements having an atom diameter of 1.6 x10¬-10 - 2.2x10¬-10 m; M1 is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn and Nb; M2 is at least one element selected from the group consisting of P, Si, Ge, Sn an Sb; and 0.5<=x<=1.5 and 1.5<=y<=3.5. Also the nonaqueous secondary battery comprises a positive electrode; a negative electrode containing an alloy having a TiNiSi type crystal structure; and a nonaqueous electrolyte. Also the nonaqueous secondary battery comprises a positive electrode; a negative electrode containing an alloy having a ZrBeSi type crystal structure; and a nonaqueous electrolyte.
