A method for efficient coding of shape descriptor parameters

A number of set of co-ordinate values representing the shape of the object are derived and quantized. A value for a given co-ordinate in a primary co-ordinate value set is less than the corresponding co-ordinate value in a secondary set. The range over which the given co-ordinate in the primary set is quantized is less than that of the secondary co-ordinate value set. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Object representation apparatus (2) Object representation program; (3) Computer system; (4) Recording medium for storing object representation program.
