MOVABLE BILLET GRINDER HAVING SAME GRINDING DIRECTION AS TRAVELING DIRECTION

PURPOSE: A movable billet grinder having the same grinding direction as a traveling direction is provided to facilitate the handling of the movable billet grinder, to easily remove a surface defect of a billet, and to grind and remove a partial surface defect of a slab. CONSTITUTION: A movable billet grinder having the same grinding direction as a traveling direction comprises a movement control unit and a surface grinding unit. The movement control unit comprises a pair of traveling wheels(20) rotatably installed to a side of an equipment base(80); a speed increaser(60) combined to the traveling wheels by pulleys(71,72); and a hydraulic pump(50) connected to an oil tank(53) to supply power to the speed increaser. The surface grinding unit comprises a grinding wheel(30) rotatably combined to an electric motor(31) installed to the other side of the equipment base; a vacuum fan(40) combined to a rotating shaft of the electric motor by pulleys(32,34); and a dust duct(42) extended from the vacuum fan to a side of the grinding wheel.
