System and method for measuring color on a printing press

A processor receives an acquired image from a printed substrate and processes the spatial information from the acquired image. Another processor receives the same acquired image from the printed substrate and processes the spectral information from the acquired image. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) apparatus for monitoring color of printed substrate; and (2) method for monitoring color of printed substrate.
