Control input circuit (6) for an electrical unit has a control line (2) with a constant current sink (7) whose current uptake during the duration of a detection pulse takes on a detection value. The current uptake between sequential detection pulses is lower. An analysis module (15) analyzes the input current (Ie) to the control line during a detection pulse and generates a control signal if input current does not fall below preset threshold value.
