<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly detect a fault of a control means by providing a fault detecting means for detecting the fault of the control means based on a reaction command signal which the control means sends to the reaction control means. SOLUTION: An output of a main control part 4 is sent to a reaction control part 7 for applying a reaction to a steering wheel 2 and a steering mechanism control part 8 for letting a steering mechanism perform a steering action and the reaction control part 6 and the steering mechanism control part 8 are independently perform control operation according to an indication signal from the main control part 4. The reaction control part 7 compares the direction of the reaction shown by the read reaction indication signal and the found direction of the reaction to be applied and examines whether the direction of the reaction shown by the reaction indication signal is right or not. As a result, when the direction of the reaction shown by the reaction indication signal in not right, it is judged that the main control part 4 which finds the reaction shown by the reaction indication signal is broken down.</p> |
