Phytochemicals are recovered from seed hulls by fractionating a seed material comprising hulls to obtain a fraction enriched in hulls, and extracting lignan from the fraction. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a fraction enriched in hulls obtainable by the inventive recovery method; and (2) an extract obtainable by the inventive recovery method.
