FIELD: electrical engineering; lead-acid battery manufacture. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes introduction of phosphoric acid H3PO4 in active material used to form positive plates and produced from mixture of two source lead powders I and II in mass proportion of (0.3-0.7) : (0.7-0.3), their phase composition being as follows: I - 5-10% of beta-PbO, 55-75% of alpha-PbO, and the rest of Pb; II - 0-2% of beta-PbO 60-83% of alpha-PbO, and the rest of; amount of phosphoric acid introduced in this active material is 2.5 to 5 mass percent of active material mass. ^ EFFECT: enhanced specific surface area of positive plates and strength of positive active material, reduced liability of mass to guttering. ^ 1 cl, 4 ex |
