A protective film for glazing

A transparent protective film comprises transparent polymeric film having film layer(s) (11) coated on side(s) with transparent coating (13). The coating contains microparticles (35) of nominal standard size and protrudes out of the coating by >=0.5 microns. Independent claims are also included for: (a) a glazed frame for mounting a picture and document comprising frame, sheet of glazing (22) mounted in the frame, backing board holding the glazing and picture in the frame, and fade protector as a transparent polymeric film composite clamped between a portion of the frame and exposed surface of the glazing; and (b) a method of protecting a glazed frame mounted document from the ravages of light using a fade protector having transparent UV absorbing polymeric film composite comprising placing fade protector against a surface of the glazing that is re-assembled in the frame with the face protector clamped adjacent the external surface of the glazing with the hard coat (12) facing inwards.
