The software configuration data is read from the removable storage medium such as optical disk and the hardware configuration data present in it is decoded for configuration of reconfigurable logic (8) in the integrated circuit chip (7) for decoding the audio or video data read from the same medium. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for decoding and presenting audio/video data; (2) decoder; and (3) a removable storage medium with audio/video data and system configuration data.
