PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress harmonics which flow out when a plurality of converters are dispersedly arranged by detecting the phase of the electric power supplied from power systems at every power converter and generating a triangular-wave carrier by synchronizing the carrier to the power phase and, at the same time, arbitrarily setting the phase of the carrier. SOLUTION: A command value generator 4 computes a voltage command and outputs the command aiming at the electric power required for a load device 10 and with the purpose of making the power factor of a converter 71 to '1'. A power phase detector 8 detects the phase of electric power and a phase command generator 9 generates a synchronous signal so as to synchronize a triangular-wave signal to the phase of supplied electric power. A triangular wave generator 52 generates the triangular-wave carrier based on the phase command from the phase command generator 9 and a PWM controller 5 generates a PWM pulse by comparing the carrier with the output signal of the command value generator 4. Thus the phase of the triangular-wave carrier of each converter is set by giving a power phase detecting function to each converter and realizing power supply synchronizing PWM in each converter.
