PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for automatically cutting a board for a printing plate are provided to precisely cut an article into a desired shape regardless of an aligned position and an aligned angle of the article. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for automatically cutting a board for a printing plate includes a movement frame installed at a work table(11) in order to horizontally move in a Y-axis direction on the work table(11) according to a movement control signal. A holder is installed at the movement frame in order to horizontally move in an X-axis direction on the movement frame. A laser generating device(21) is installed at the work table(11) so as to generate a carbon dioxide laser in the form of a pulse. An optical adjustment device(23) is installed at the holder and includes a plurality of lenses for compensating a size and a distance difference of the laser beam generated the laser generating device(21).
