It can be used in the development of laser locators, inmaterial research, various technological applications etc. The generator of short light pulses consists of the following optically coupled components arranged along a single optical axis: a total reflection mirror, quality modulator, the first polarizer, active medium with pumping means, pinhole and output mirror behind which a phase-retarding element, objective and Brillouin-active medium are placed.
