Use of a polynucleotide probe (A) of 10-500 bp and at least 80% complementary with a target corresponding to all or part of the FANCC (Fanconi anemia, complementation group C) gene (NM 000136.1) (a) for characterizing a biological sample by measuring the level of FANCC or (b) for identifying compounds (I) for treatment of psoriasis. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) method for identifying (I); (2) research tool or diagnostic kit that comprises (A); (3) method for diagnosing psoriasis, or a predisposition to it, by measuring overexpression of FANCC, by contacting a test sample with (A).
