PURPOSE: A functional fertilizer composition and a method for cultivating a plant using the same are provided to improve the growth of a plant and soil properties by activating soil microorganisms, and effectively reduce various hazardous heavy metals present in soil. The fertilizer composition is suitably used in golf or football field. CONSTITUTION: The functional fertilizer composition comprises minerals containing 3-8wt% of Na2O and 8wt% of K2O. The method for cultivating a plant comprises an application of the functional fertilizer composition to plants, specifically by foliar spray.
