CATALYST FOR PURIFYING EXHAUST GAS OF VEHICLES CAPABLE OF MAINTAINING GOOD CATALYTIC ACTIVITY AT HIGH TEMPERATURE AND METHOD FOR PREPARING THEREOF

PURPOSE: To provide a catalyst for purifying exhaust gas of vehicles, of which specific surface area is not significantly decreased while being operated at a high temperature, and a method for preparing thereof. CONSTITUTION: The catalyst comprises a tungsten oxide-titanium dioxide media, at least one material selected from the group consisting of transition metals, alkaline earth metals, and oxides thereof, and a noble metal. The method comprises the steps of: (a) after absorbing an aqueous solution of tungsten oxide salt into titanium dioxide, drying and sintering it to prepare a tungsten oxide impregnated titanium dioxide media; and (b) supporting at least one material selected from the group consisting of transition metals, alkaline earth metals, and oxides thereof and a noble metal in the media.
