PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for inspecting a display panel are provided to judge the quality of a display panel while suppressing influence of moire. CONSTITUTION: A sensor(12) photographs a display panel on which a plurality of display pixels are arranged, and has a plurality of sensor elements arranged in an array direction of the plurality of display pixels to obtain a plurality of sensor element signals. A first memory(14) stores the sensor element signals output from the sensor. A processing unit(16) obtains added values or mean values of the sensor element signal and other sensor element signals before and after the sensor element signal. A second memory(18) stores the added values or mean values.
