APPARATUS FOR RECOVERING ENERGY OF PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL AND METHOD FOR THE SAME, IN WHICH CONDUCTION LOSS IS MINIMIZED

PURPOSE: An apparatus for recovering the energy of a plasma display panel and a method for the same are provided to increase the rising and falling edges of the sustain waveform during the energy recovery by using the reverse voltage. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for recovering the energy of a plasma display panel includes a plasma display panel, a voltage source(+VS), an inductor(L) and a second switching device(Q2). The voltage source(+VS) supplies the sustain voltage to the panel by way of the first switching device(Q1). The inductor(L) recovers the energy stored at the panel by resonating with the panel and it supplies the recovered energy to the panel. And, the second switching device(Q2) forms the current path between the inductor(L) and the panel.
