PURPOSE: Provided is a cosmetic composition which contains the Pau d'arco extract as an active ingredient to promote biosynthesis of collagen and improve skin wrinkles. The composition has excellent stability to the skin and has no adverse side effect. CONSTITUTION: The cosmetic composition for promoting collagen synthesis and improving skin wrinkles is characterized by comprising the Pau d'arco extract as an active ingredient, in the amount of 0.0001-5.0 wt.%, based on the total weight of the composition.
