<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering magnetic powder which permits rapid solid-liquid separation, facilitates re-suspension, does not require large-scale devices, such as a centrifuge and filter press, does not require the cost for the maintenance of the devices, and makes excellent recoverability and washability of the magnetic powder obtainable, a washing method and an apparatus for washing and recovering the magnetic powder. <P>SOLUTION: The recovering method comprises recovering the magnetic powder by the magnetic forced from a dispersion liquid in which the magnetic powder is dispersed. The washing method comprises dispersing the magnetic powder into a cleaning solvent, then recovering the magnetic powder by the magnetic force from the dispersion liquid.
