WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD USING MULTIPLEX TRANSMITTING/RECEIVING ANTENNA SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication system comprised of a base station provided with M-units of antennas for communicating with K-units of user terminals through a wireless channel.

SOLUTION: The base station restores a transmission rate information indicating a transmission rate supportable per sub-channel from the M-units of antennas from a returned signal received from the K-units of user terminals, and assigns the M-units of sub-channels to the K-units of user terminals according to the transmission rate information to determine the transmission rate of the assigned sub-channel. At this moment, if the K-units is greater than or equal to the M-units, the M-units of sub-channels are respectively assigned to M-units of the user terminals selected in round-robin fashion out of the K-units of user terminals for every time periods. And the base station transmits data for the selected M-units of user terminals to the M-units of user terminals respectively in the transmission rate determined through the assigned M-units of antennas.
