PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically set up the destination of a car navigation system based on positional information such as telephone number data recorded in a portable telephone or the positional information obtained from a Web page. SOLUTION: The telecommunication system is constituted such that the portable telephone 11 and the car navigation system 12 are connected with an infrared communication R1, wherein the car navigation system 12 sets up the destination based on the telephone number transmitted from the portable telephone 11. That is, the telephone number of the destination is previously stored in the portable telephone 11, and the portable telephone 11 automatically transmits to the car navigation system 12 with the infrared communication R1, when the portable telephone 11 is placed neighboring the car navigation system 12.
