PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a business job execution monitoring method easily applicable to an existing computer system, and a computer program for making a computer execute the method. SOLUTION: In this business job execution monitoring method, a job execution function 3 starts execution monitoring job 6 for monitoring the executing state of business jobs 5, 5, etc. in a job processor 1 having the job execution function 3 for scheduling jobs based on a schedule definition file 4, and the executing state of each of business jobs 5, 5, etc. is monitored by the started execution monitoring job 6. Each of business jobs 5, 5, etc. generates, when the execution is started, an execution start file 5A showing the starting and, when the execution is ended, an execution end file 5B showing the end, respectively. The execution monitoring job 6 executes, based on the execution start file 5A and execution end file 5B generated by the business job 5 identified by job identification information included in a delay determination data file 7, an execution monitoring processing for determining whether or not the business job 5 is delayed.
