PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device that has a display consuming less power with a long life but does not bother other neighboring people as well as the photographer . SOLUTION: In order to solve the above problem, the optical device has a display to show the functions for photographing an object and the photographing data. It can display the function set up menu to set up the functions for photographing the object, and the photographing data menu to show the above photographing data. The above function setup menu is a menu to permit the automatic switch-off of the light, and the above photographing data menu is a menu to inhibit the automatic switch-off of the light.
