PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display element which occupies a small space and for which any strict adjustment is unnecessary in designing an optical system. SOLUTION: The display element is provided with a half mirror layer 2 having light reflectivity and translucency, and a display layer 4 overlayed on one surface side 2b of the half mirror layer 2 with an insulation layer 3 interposed.
