PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the visibility of a sample and the workability of a sample replacement from becoming worse when an operation handle is switched to the right and left. SOLUTION: A mechanical stage 3 is equipped with a clamp 9 holding a sample 13 and a moving mechanism 24 which holds the clamp 9 and moves the clamp 9 to a fixed stage 2 of a microscope by operating an operation handle 22 while the clamp 9 is in the held state. The hole moving mechanism 24 is attached to and detached from the fixed stage 2 to switch the arrangement of the operation handle to the right and left. When the operation handle 22 is switched, the clamp 9 is held by the moving mechanism 24 through a switching mechanism capable of changing the direction of the clamp 9 to a position that faces the observer.
