PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for agriculture and horticulture for preventing emergence of a low amylose wheat, and to provide a method for preventing the emergence of the low amylose wheat. SOLUTION: The composition for agriculture and horticulture for preventing the emergence of the low amylose wheat contains one or more kinds of compounds selected from the group consisting of a phosphorous acid ester, and an ammonium salt, a primary to quaternary ammonium salt, an alkali metal salt, an alkaline earth metal salt and a polyvalent metal salt of the phosphorous acid ester.
