摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems in terms of heat resistance and durability since catalytic reaction is caused at a high temperature in many cases, particularly in the case of steam reforming reaction of methanol and problems in terms of the cost in the case of using noble metal-based catalysts other than copper type catalysts. <P>SOLUTION: With respect to the ultrafine particle of a compound catalyst comprising a quasicrystal aluminum alloy particle as a carrier, in combination with another metal element, an ultrafine particle of a metal formed on the surface of the quasicrystal aluminum alloy particle composes the ultrafine particle of the compound catalyst. The compound may be Pd-Zn, Cu-Zn, or Cu-Au compound and the ultrafine particle of the compound catalyst is formed by alloying the ultrafine particle of the metal formed on the surface of the quasicrystal aluminum alloy particle by pulverizing and leaching a quasicrystal aluminum alloy ingot with a metal element which does not have catalytic activity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
