<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a physiologically active composition containing Sparassis crispa enabling the commercial supply of Sparassis crispa known to have usefulness. <P>SOLUTION: Water is added to the powder produced by freeze-drying the fruit body of Sparassis crispa (product of Unitika Ltd.) and mixed with Cellulase Onozuka (product of Yakult Honsha Co., Ltd.) to effect enzymatic reaction. The reaction product is heated to 100°C and maintained for 5 min to deactivate the enzyme. The residue is separated by filtration and the extracted liquid is freeze-dried to obtain the enzymatic treatment product of Sparassis crispa. The physiologically active composition contains the enzymatic treatment product as an active component. The physiological activity is preferably antitumor activity, blood sugar level regulating activity, antihyperlipemic activity, antiallergic activity or antihypertension activity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
