PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the efficiency of reading in the case of reading a transparent original by using a light source of a size incapable of illuminating the entire transparent original. SOLUTION: The image read system includes: a light source; a photo sensor; a data conversion means; and an image processing means, the sensor senses the light of a range illuminated by the light source and its surrounding light, the data conversion means converts the sensed signal into data, and the image processing means extracts only the part of the range to which the light is emitted.
