PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup element where the voltage obtained from between terminals is made to have the same output for the same light even if individual differences of photovoltaic cells occur at the time of manufacturing and accuracy of obtained color component information is improved, and to provide an optical device equipped with the element. SOLUTION: In the image pickup element, a plurality of the photovoltaic cells are laminated along the direction of an optical axis, cell groups where different photosensitive wavelength regions are set are disposed, photovoltaic conversion signals generated on both ends of the photovoltaic cells are detected, and color component information on light which is made incident on the cell groups is obtained.
