PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state imaging device which can be manufactured at a low cost, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the solid-state imaging device which comprises a solid-state imaging element 2, leads 4, and a glass material 9, an electrode formed in the solid-state imaging element is connected to inner leads 5 via bumps 6, and then the solid-state imaging element and the inner leads are sealed with molding resin, with an imaging section 3 of the exposed solid-state imaging element, and thereafter, the glass material is placed above the imaging section of the solid-state imaging element.
