PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foamed sheet overlap preventing mechanism for winding divided foamed sheets formed by dividing a foamed sheet in two in the width direction on a winding shaft while keeping them in a mutually separated condition. SOLUTION: The foamed sheet overlap preventing mechanism 1 is arranged midways in carrying the divided foamed sheets S1 formed by dividing the foamed sheet S in two with a cutter 3 to the winding shaft. Since it comprises a spindle-shaped thrusting member 5 for thrusting the two divided foamed sheets S1, S1 in the condition of ranging over between the opposed ends of the divided foamed sheets S1 to separate the divided foamed sheets S1, S1 from each other and a supporting member 4 for keeping the thrusting member 5 in the condition of thrusting the divided foamed sheets S1, S1 while adjusting the thrust of the thrusting member 5 on the divided foamed sheets S1, S1, the two divided foamed sheets can be wound on the winding shaft in the accurately separated condition.
